RoHS standards for the USA
Behmor, Inc., takes the position that we are the stewards of the environment, and as such we have directed that the Behmor 1600 be manufactured to meet Reduced Hazardous Substances standards, aka RoHS. The RoHS standard far exceeds the pending California PRO65 standard that is soon to become law in California.
This is an industry first for the USA—that an American manufacturer (Behmor, Inc.) will be a leader in the fight to reduce pollutants in the manufacture of any appliance, thus meeting RoHS standards for the US market. And we are among the few companies in the USA taking such steps in the electronics industry in general.
What Do We Mean, Specifically? What is Behmor, Inc., Seeking to Improve?
In the manufacturing world in general, every piece of electronic equipment that contains printed circuit boards, semiconductors, and other electronic items also contains high levels of the following:
• Lead
• Mercury
• Cadmium
• Hexavalent chromium (Chromium VI or Cr6+)
• Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
• Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)

Behmor, Inc., is manufacturing the Behmor 1600 with reduced levels of all of the above substances—by choice—to meet low-pollution standards and highlight how we can lead by example.
